MINI WEAVERS – EASTER

Creative workshops starting in Fowey at Easter! Loosely               structured creative willow weaving sessions with a child-led       approach, for children aged 4-11 years. 

Fun sessions where everyone can explore natural materials and learn this fantastic traditional craft. The children will also develop social skills and gain creative learning in maths, science,       history and design.

10.00am – 12.00pm & 1.00pm – 3.00pm

£7.50 per session, discounts for siblings. Bring a packed lunch and stay all day for £15.00

Come and join us for lots of fun, and learn to make your own willow sculptures to take home with you. Amazing location with fantastic views. If the weather isn’t very nice we’ll be weaving inside our magical bell tent.

Parents do need to stay with their children during the sessions, although if you want to you are more than welcome.

All staff have enhanced DBS and we are fully insured.

These short courses are a fantastic way to learn new skills, meet new people, and have lots of fun. Working with willow is surprisingly therapeutic and very rewarding. Groups are kept small so that everyone receives individual attention and can work at a pace that suits them, so early booking is recommended to avoid disappointment.

All our short courses are suitable for complete beginners and are structured to develop willow-weaving skills. The courses enable you to learn a variety of different techniques and make some wonderful items for your home and garden or to give as presents.

You will learn a variety of traditional techniques using different types of dried willow.

All courses start at 10.00 am and finish at 12.30 pm, and costs £25, which includes all the tools and materials required and plenty of tea, coffee, biscuits and cake!

One-day Courses – Treverbyn, St Austell

Our one-day courses are a wonderful introduction into willow weaving and are suitable for both beginners and those wanting to progress their skills. Covering a variety of different items, from        Basketry and Garden Crafts to Christmas Crafts and Sculpture, you will learn to make a variety of items to decorate your home and garden.

Working with willow is surprisingly therapeutic and very rewarding. Our courses are a fantastic way to spend a relaxing day and are lots of fun.

You will learn a variety of traditional weaving techniques using different types of dried willow and make some wonderful items for your home and garden or to give as presents.

Suitable for both complete beginners and those wanting to progress their skills.

Places are limited on all our courses as groups are kept small, so please book early to avoid disappointment. 

All one-day courses start at 10.00 am and finish at 4.00 pm unless stated otherwise, and cost £45, which includes all the tool and materials required and plenty of tea, coffee, biscuits and cake! All you need to bring is a packed lunch.

All courses starts at 10.00 am and finishes at 12.30 pm, and costs £25, which includes all the tools and materials required and plenty of tea, coffee, biscuits and cake!  Our Wadebridge courses are limited to only 4 participants per session, and if there is enough interest, we will repeat the course in the afternoon.

Living Willow Courses

Ways with Willow provide practical hands-on courses where you will learn design and make a living willow structure. Using traditional weaving techniques, participants will be shown how to prepare, plant and build with living willow and help build a structure . You will also be taught about the care and maintenance required so that your structures grows and remains healthy where it has been planted. 

All our living willow courses run from 10.00am until 4.00pm and cost £50 unless stated otherwise, which includes all the tools and materials required, and tea, coffee, biscuits, cake and lunch are also provided. As these courses will be outdoors, you will need warm, waterproof clothing.

FREE willow weaving workshops

On the first Saturday of every month, there is a fantastic  Artisan Market in St Austell Market HouseThere’s delicious chutneys and jams, cup-cakes, and home baked quiche, fresh artisan bread, award winning sausage & meats and fresh fish.

Every month, we’ll be running FREE willow weaving drop-in workshops during the market, from 10am-2pm. Come and have a go at weaving, and learn how to make swords, hearts, fish, flowers and much more! 

And that’s not all! Every third Saturday of every month, there’s a great produce market too, and we’ll also be running FREE workshops then!!

Our shop will be open as usual during both markets from 9.30am-5.00pm, so come and browse our willow kits, handmade products and greetings cards, or pick up some willow to weave with at home!

Willow Wonderland Preview Evening

Our fantastic new shop and workshop opens upstairs in the Market house, St Austell on Saturday 30th August. 

On Friday 29th, we have a special preview evening for all our wonderful supporters, customers and clients from 6-9pm. 

Jo Saville’s Rock Choir will be performing from 6.30pm, there’s a ‘Swish and Stitch’ and private viewing of Gary Marshall Steven’s ‘Hollow Men’ exhibition. There’s also drinks and nibbles and cake, special opening offers and a raffle!

Our shop will stock a variety of our different willow kits, beautiful willow products for your home and garden, and bundles of willow for your own projects.

In the workshop, we’ll be running regular courses and workshops, as well as a number of different projects.

Come and be among the first to see how we’ve transformed the units into our on and have a look at what we’ve got to offer.
